About this Blog…
The purpose of this blog is simply to express gratitude. Gratitude for the big things and the little things that make my life happier, easier, more interesting, more fun, more MINE!
It’s been suggested by many people that keeping a “Gratitude Journal” is a way to remain connected to “the flow” – the abundance in our lives.
I’m in full agreement. I know that what I put my attention on comes around more often in my life.
I also know that the direction where I focus my thoughts, and how I think about things colors the results I get. So I’m interested in creating more of what I really want, thus my desire to appreciate and express my joy and gratitude.
What is this ER=100x?
Many, many years ago I took a course called “More Money”. In it I learned many new ideas about what money is, how it flows through our lives. Some of the ideas shifted my whole consciousness about money, wealth and prosperity. Some of the ideas planted seeds that would later grow into full bloom.
One of the ideas that intrigued me was how we frame paying bills – especially if we think we don’t have enough money. While many people worry and complain, especially when things are tight, the instructors suggested that instead we feel a sense of gratitude in sharing our money with whomever we were writing our checks out to. They suggested that we send the money off with feelings of appreciation to our creditors for making it possible for us to share our wealth.
Their point was that creditors extended credit to us because of the Universe’s belief in our ability to pay (create wealth), and so therefore, who were we to say they were wrong!
And as a tool, they suggested that on each check we write “Thank You” as a way of showing appreciation for the opportunity to share our wealth, and as a way of affirming the Universe’s belief in us.
They also recommended adding the code “er=10x” in the memo line, meaning Earnings Returned 10 Times (X). This is also a way of affirming to the Universe that whatever you send out will come back to you 10-fold. Writing it down declares it, which is the first step to creating the room for it to come back into your life. Lately I have heard about this idea when it comes to tithing – that whatever you give is returned to you 10 times. It seems reasonable to me that ANYTHING you give away comes back to you 10 times. Especially when you give it willingly (remember the reframe of paying bills versus making a contribution to the world and the Universe).
The instructors suggested that those of us who were REALLY in dire straits write “er=100x”. Well at the time, that was me!! I was a single parent raising my daughter with no help from her father (who only came into her life after she reached 30). I started adding that to every single check I wrote, and to this day I still do.
The “Thank You” always gets a big smile, and when people ask about the er=100x, I just tell them it’s my own coding. They all seem to assume it means something about how I categorize my payments or something, which is fine with me. If I told them what it meant, many of them would just look at me strangely.
Do I “need” the 100-fold return any longer? Not really. But it’s become such a habit for me, and such an expectation, that I’ll probably continue it.
Because after all, there is no limit to the Universe and what it can provide - is there.
Note: If you’d like to try these techiques, feel free! When you sit down to write out your checks, give gratitude for a Universe that expects you to be successful. And write the checks with love and gratitude for what you have received in return. Use the coding if you’d like. Try it out for a few months and come back and tell us what you notice that’s different.
